Job brief :

As an Helmsman, you have a key role on the ship, continuing your personal development for reaching next step in your career (as Captain) and also maintaining the communication between Captain and deck crew;

Responsibilities :

• Assisting with mooring procedures;
• Loading and unloading the ship;
• Making sure that the task given by the Captain are fulfilled together with the other members of the crew;
• Cleaning and tidying activities on deck, engine rooms and living rooms;
• Maintenance work (weekly/monthly checklist) including painting; Working closely with team to ensure the vessel is in good working order;
• You are obliged to correctly use and manage all personal protective equipment made available to you by the company and to immediately inform the Captain of any defect;
• You are responsible for compliance with the procedures and standards laid down in the quality system and care for the environment;
• Available to work in Rotation: 2 weeks on/ 2 weeks off - 3 weeks on/ 3 weeks off - 4 weeks on/ 4 weeks off;
• Report problems related your work to the Captain;

Skill's requirements :

Helmsman service book; VHF; Radar;

Strong sense of responsibility, thoughtfulness and decision-making skills;

Organized;

Teamwork;

Attention to details;

Proactive;

Experience on tanker vessels & ADN certificate is an advantage (for tankers);

Good oral command of the Dutch, German or English language;

Salary :

180-250 €/day
